As a congregation located at the heart of one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, we are excited and delighted with the significant growth and development in the city of Greenville.
Over the last few years, we have been outgrowing our current facilities. The time has now come to embark upon an extensive and comprehensive campus expansion. This new development will include the construction of a Worship and Arts Center, a centrally located main entrance and gathering space, a new gymnasium, additional adult and children’s classrooms, new youth facilities, and a secure yet accessible area for our children’s ministry.
The congregation recognizes the challenge and enormity of this capital campaign, and we deeply appreciate your prayers as God empowers us to be “a people whose dreams are greater than our memories.”
Back in the 1980s, we made the decision to remain in our downtown location. In doing so, we provided excellent facilities that have equipped and enabled subsequent generations to minister to those in need. Today, in Greenville’s rapidly changing environment, we are prayerfully seeking God’s sustained leading and guiding as we develop new facilities and seek to transform the heart of this vibrant city through the impactful love of Christ encountered in the gospel.
Over the next few months, we will have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to provide facilities capable of enabling us to thrive in a 21st-century context as we seek to engage and impact the city, the culture, and beyond.
As a church we believe that we are living in some of the most exciting days in the life of First Presbyterian. I encourage you to prayerfully consider your commitment as together we seek to Transform the Heart of the City.
